A disastrous fire occurred at the Coconut Grove Night Club, Boston, Mass., at 2030 on Saturday night, November 28, 1942.
Some six hundred seventy (670) persons were killed or injured, of whom about four hundred thirty (430) were killed outright, and about seventy (70) died later as a result of burns or smoke inhalation.
A large number of officers and men of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard were present and all groups suffered casualties.
